FAQs of Voyager MFHDs

• Voyager currently does not support ANSI Z39.71
  standard Holdings statements for bibliographic
  items
• Because of 1. above, the ed. cannot be used in
  the 853 field of the Voyager holdings record. It
  can be used in OCLC LDRs
• Because of 1. above, the () cannot be used in
  the 853 field of the Voyager Holdings record when
  a title lacks an enumerative caption. It can be
  used in OCLC LDRs.

FAQs continued

• Subfield z (z) of the 863-865 (public note) does
  not display in the Voyager system.
• Cataloger supplied months and seasons recorded in
  the 853 and indicated by square brackets (i.e.,
  01 for the month of January) will not generate
  appropriate label in the Voyager OPAC display.

• When the first level of Enumeration/Chronology is
  the year and the second level consists of parts
  or volumes, the caption does not appear in
  Voyager OPAC display.
• The 1st level chronology does not display when
  used in conjunction with 1st level enumeration
  for the 855/865 Index fields.
• Combined chronology in the second and third
  levels enumeration of the 853/863 does not show
  the second half of the combination in the Public
  Display. For example
• 853 00 8 1 a v. b no. i (year) j (month)
• 863 40 8 1.1 a 79-93 b 2-6 i 1977-1992 j
  11/12-07/08

• LC has just added a 506 field Restrictions on
  Access Note to the MARC21 for holdings
• What changes will OCLC implement on Batch loading
  now that Union Listing has changed (Revision of
  their guide has target date for summer 2007)
• What changes will Ex Libris bring to Voyager?
