Physical description

• Hippos can be many different colors such
• as black blue pink red gray and brown skin.
• Hippos are very large and can weigh 3000 - 7000
  ponds.
• Hippos have a huge mouth that can open up to 4
  feet wide.

Habitat

• Hippos live in sunny places where it gets vary
  hot.
• They live in the Western Central.
• Eastern and Southern parts of Africa.

Food and diet

• Hippos eat many different types of plants.
• Mostly water plants and terrestrial grasses.

Predators

• Hippos do have some predators.
• They are crocodiles, hyenas, and even lions.
• Hippos fiercely protect their young.
• If a crocodile attacked her baby, she could
  actually bite it in half.
• Their jaws are very powerful.

• A mother hippo has one baby at a time.
• A baby stays with its mom for 8 years.
• A baby is called a calf.
• Babies are born in August.

• A hippo can live for 40 to 50 years.
• A hippo can hold its breath underwater for 15

• They have webs of skin between their toes to help
