Profile of Participants

• Two-thirds of all family care services are
  provided by family members.
• 80 of all family caregivers are women
• 79 are between the ages of 40-59
• 20-40 of caregivers are also raising children
  under 18

• Ongoing Training Making them better workers and
  helping to open and develop new career paths

• Create a relaxed and supportive learning
  environment
• Give the participants a chance to get to know you
  and know each other
• Encourage everyone to participate
• Be a good listener and provide constructive
  feedback

• Refreshments Feed them and they will come
• Opening activity or game Helps everyone interact
  and get to know each other
• Speaker or Video Be sure to leave time for
  questions
• Highlight Person Good get to know you activity
  and makes them feel special and welcome
• Door Prize Drawing Gets them to stay for the
  entire meeting and do evaluations
• Staff on Hand to Answer Questions

• Have everyone sign in with their name and phone
  number
• Make their own name tag
• Pick up handouts and resource information

• A casual arrangement of chairs will help them
  interact with each other
• Leave room for wheelchair access
