BTEC First Diploma in Sport

• A BTEC First Diploma is a practical, work-related
  course.
• You learn by completing projects and assignments
  that are based on realistic workplace situations,
  activities and demands.
• It introduces you to the employment area you have
  chosen and provides a good basis to go on to a
  more advanced work-related qualification.
• A BTEC First Diploma is equivalent to four GCSEs
  grades A C and is taken as a full-time course.

What are the entry requirements?

• A BTEC Foundation Certificate in a related
  subject
• A standard of literacy and numeracy supported by
  a general education equivalent to 4 GCSEs at
  grades D-G
• Related work experience
• Other related level 1 or 2 qualifications

• All units are assessed and graded and an overall
  grade for the qualification is awarded.
• This is a coursework based course

What is a BTEC National Award?

• A BTEC National Award is a practical,
  work-related course.
• You learn by completing projects and assignments
  that are based on realistic workplace situations,
  activities and demands.
• You focus on a particular subject area and
  develop a range of specialist skills and
  knowledge.
• It is equivalent to one A level so when you have
  finished the course you can use it to get a job
• Or you can use it alongside other qualifications
  to go into higher education

• A BTEC First Certificate or Diploma in a related
  subject
• An Intermediate GNVQ in a related subject
• At least four GCSEs at grades A-C
