Title: Insights for an Appropriate and Biblical Self Image
1Insights for an Appropriate and Biblical Self
Image
2God prescribes us before birth.
- your eyes saw my unformed body, all the days
ordained for me were written in your book before
one of them came to be. - Psalm 13916
3God is not finished with us yet.
- For we are His workmanship created in Christ
Jesus to do good works, which God has prepared in
advance for us to do Ephesians 210 - being confident of this, that he who began a
good work in you will carry it on to completion
until the day of Christ Jesus. - Phil 116
4The cause of inferiority is...Comparison /
unchangeable features / appearanceinability to
accept your journey.
- let him who boast, boast in the Lord. For it is
not the one who commends himself who is approved,
but the one who the Lord commends. - 2 Cor. 1017
5Outward beauty is not related to inward happiness.
- do not consider his appearance or his height,
for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look
at the things man looks at. Man looks at the
outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the
heart. - I Sam 167
6Gods ideal for us is completely inward.
- Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is
the kingdom of heaven. - Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be
comforted. - Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the
earth. - Matt 53-5
7If necessary God sacrifices outward beauty to
develop inward character.
- we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are
wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed
day by day - 2 Cor. 416
- for what is seen is temporary, but what is
unseen is eternal. - 2 Cor. 418b
8Self worth is increased by reproducing Christs
character in others.
- you yourselves are our letter, written on our
hearts, known and read by everybody. - 2 Cor. 32
9Differences in unchangeable features are Gods
special frames to hi-lite His unique message.
- My grace is sufficient for you, for my power
is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will
boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so
that Christs power may rest on me when I am
weak, then I am strong. - 2 Cor. 129,10
10Gods work and reputation are at stake in our
inward and outward frame..
- He guides me in paths of righteousness for His
names sake. - Psalm 233
