• This displays "XXXXX" where a piece of text has
  to be translated in the interface
• it helps (especially the TEL office!) for
  understanding if a text to be translated is
  missing in the translation tool
• www.theeuropeanlibrary.org/portal/?langtag
• This displays the name which identifies the piece
  of text to translate in the translation tool
• It helps for understanding where a text appears
  on which page.

• Translation templates are provided
• English on the left, translation on the right
• Currently 8 help pages for translation
• SEARCH Section Simple search, Advanced search,
  Search results, Search history and Search
  favourites
• COLLECTIONS section Collections by subject,
  Search collections, Browse all collections
• Where possible the same text is used in multiple
  sections, e.g. default collections

Translation timings

• 2 3 Releases of The European Library per year
• After each release new interface translation
  texts to be translated within 4 weeks
• Help-texts are updated to current release 4 weeks
  after a release
• New templates will then be circulated to partners
• Limited numbers of new help-text languages per
  release
