Biliary fever what is this disease ?
  • Disease of dogs and cats caused by a parasite
    that affects the red blood cells
  • The parasite damages the red blood cell causing
    anaemia (blood loss)
  • Similar to malaria in people

  • Parasite is Babesia canis or Babesia felis
  • Parasite transmitted by ticks
  • Disease is more prevalent in the summer months
