What is TAES?
  • Towards an Excellent Service or TAES is a
    self-assessment tool for measuring the level of
    performance of an organisation.

Why carry out a TAES assessment?
  • Government focus on improved delivery of
    services
  • Mechanism for determining level of performance
    as a means of improving
  • Perception of sport as being weak in terms of
    delivery evidence!

  • Step 1 Carry out scoping exercise to identify
    potential participants in and timeline for TAES
    process
  • Step 2 Meet with Validator and agree process
  • Step 3 Prepare for Focus group (10/01/06)
  • Step 4 Collect evidence and analyse outputs from
    focus group
  • Step 5 Prepare draft Improvement plan
  • Step 6 Validator undertakes post-assessment
    review of outputs from focus events and content
    of improvement plan

Before we start
  • Read each of the pieces of evidence before
    making a decision,
  • Discussion is important for arriving at decisions
    by consensus, you are in mixed groups so listen
    and learn, but also contribute your views are
    valued
  • Each group must fill in for every criteria a
    Record of evidence or an Improvement area or
    even both but NO BLANKS!!!
  • Dont hesitate to ask myself or others for
    information to help you make decisions
  • Please dont walk away with the workbooks
