3SyteLine Forecasting
- For 16 years, BTA has worked with SyteLine
customers who have searched for more
functionality to satisfy their demand planning
needs. - In response, BTA developed SyteLine Forecasting
for Infor as a complimentary package to SyteLine
MRP\APS. - SyteLine Forecasting is fully integrated with
SyteLine using the same user interface and
technology and is supported by Infor. - SyteLine Forecasting is available for all
versions of SyteLine 4.xx through 7.xx.
4Forecasting Module Functionality
- Calculates forecasts from historical trend, or
customer supplied forecasts. - Advanced algorithms used to model trends and
seasonality. Manipulations are performed in the
system not on spreadsheets. - Graphs forecasts vs. history and allows
adjustments by item or group. - Allows you to analyze the calculated forecasts
comparing to historical trends and forecast
variations in the past then easily override with
your judgment. - Calculates optimal item safety stock, order min.
- As demand and product mix changes, your
inventory drivers are dynamically calculated to
right-size your inventory. - Updates SyteLine MRP\APS forecast.
- The calculated and adjusted forecasts are pushed
through to the SyteLine Forecast for the MRP/APS
processing. - Monitors the forecast vs. actual demand.
- Between forecasting cycles, actual demand is
compared to the forecast and your are alerted to
spikes and trends that might cause inventory
problems.

Group Adjustments and Item Adjustments are
available to manipulate the calculated forecast.
This allows you to mass adjust a group of items
or to make adjustments for special circumstances
9Safety Stock/Order Minimums
These calculations can be run as a monthly
utility to recalculate these inventory drivers as
demand changes. The suggested changes can be
reviewed in a spreadsheet, then approved and
posted directly to SyteLine Item Master.

Predetermined values trigger exception messages.

- Review date message is triggered at a future
point in time - Tracking exceptions are generated when the
forecast trend varies from the actual demand
trend. - Demand Filter exceptions are triggered if a spike
in actual demand occurs.
