Proposed Action

• Rebuild and raise retaining wall (embankment to
  better align with the lip of the skip bin)

Method adopted

• Prefabricated retaining wall system to reduce the
  on-site works
• Violet Town Concrete Industries, Vic was the only
  supplier of retaining wall system for the height
  required
• Prefabricated kit was easy to assemble
• At least 5 cost saving compared to conventional
  design construction process

• Concrete piers constructed to support a series of
  I section steel posts (UBs).
• Pre-stressed concrete panels were then slid
  between the posts.
• Posts tied to concrete beam (deadman) in
  embankment to add structural stability
