Caring for You
10What is the PPG?A group of people joining
together in a voluntary capacity to enhance the
Practice by working alongside the doctor and
nurses on behalf of and representing the
patients.

11What does it involve?
Southwood Practice
- Primarily we do ask members to attend a PPG
meeting every 8-10 weeks (always in the evening) - This is to discuss issues affecting your
Practice, and helping the surgery to deliver the
best service it can.
12What else does the PPG do?
Southwood Practice
- Help with patient clinics from time to time. (eg
Flu clinic) - Help to distribute patient survey forms in
surgery. - Occasionally attend National PPG Seminars.
- Assist in producing the Southwood Practice
Newsletter. - Proof read Practice literature.
- Develop self help projects to meet the needs of
fellow patients. - All the above are not obligatory but even the
smallest input is of great value.

can speak to Lorraine at the surgery- Pick up a
form from reception- complete the form on the
surgery website

- Pick up a leaflet in surgery or access it on the
surgery website.
16Did you know?Nurse Sue is a prescribing nurse
and runs a minor illness clinic most days for
patients over 16years of age.You can book to
see Sue for a variety of ailments including
coughs, colds, allergic rashes,
earache,cystitis and DV. Ask at reception
