What is the PPG?A group of people joining
together in a voluntary capacity to enhance the
Practice by working alongside the doctor and
nurses on behalf of and representing the
patients.

What does it involve?
Southwood Practice

• Primarily we do ask members to attend a PPG
  meeting every 8-10 weeks (always in the evening)
• This is to discuss issues affecting your
  Practice, and helping the surgery to deliver the
  best service it can.

What else does the PPG do?
Southwood Practice

• Help with patient clinics from time to time. (eg
  Flu clinic)
• Help to distribute patient survey forms in
  surgery.
• Occasionally attend National PPG Seminars.
• Assist in producing the Southwood Practice
  Newsletter.
• Proof read Practice literature.
• Develop self help projects to meet the needs of
  fellow patients.
• All the above are not obligatory but even the
  smallest input is of great value.

Did you know?Nurse Sue is a prescribing nurse
and runs a minor illness clinic most days for
patients over 16years of age.You can book to
see Sue for a variety of ailments including
coughs, colds, allergic rashes,
earache,cystitis and DV. Ask at reception
