Purpose
  • The Clinical Training Center for Family Planning
    (CTCFP) provides training for clinical family
    planning preceptors. Clinical family planning
    preceptors ensure that direct care providers in
    Title X settings apply the most current knowledge
    and skills necessary for effective delivery of
    high quality family planning services.

Clinical Preceptors
  • Family planning preceptors are
  • identified practitioners experienced in
  • family planning care who provide
  • individualized transitional
  • role support
  • and learning opportunities for
  • less experienced and new
  • practitioners.

Goal
  • The goal of the CTCFP is to prepare clinical
    preceptors to provide education, mentoring and
    skills assessment of clinical family planning
    providers.
  • 200 PRECEPTORS
  • 115 TRAINERS

Objectives
  • 1. Train and support 200 expert clinical
    preceptors through a competency-based,
    standardized curriculum
  • 2. Maximize the performance potential of Title X
    clinicians through access to expert clinical
    precepting and specialized training

    interdisciplinary networks that interact and
    learn from each other
  • 4. Optimize care in family planning settings by
    applying evidence-based knowledge and skills to
    facilitate positive client outcomes

Clinical Family Planning Training Course
  • 18 hours over 2 ½ days
  • Competency-based instruction grounded in adult
    learning principles
  • Designed for those new to the preceptor role,
    those who have never had formal training as a
    preceptor and those wanting a refresher
