Internet
- Open a DOS Prompt on a Windows based client
computer and Ping www.ositis.com
- If you see a reply to the ping, you are
connecting successfully through AVStripper

If client computers do not have direct access to
the Internet
- Try to ping the IP Address of a machine located
on the opposite side of AVStripper
- A reply to the ping will indicate successful
connectivity through AVStripper
33Testing Antivirus Capabilities
- If client computers have direct access to the
Internet - Open your browser and go to http//www.eicar.com/
download/eicar.com - The eicar.com file is a test virus used to test
the functionality of AVStrippers software - The test file is safe to pass around, because it
is not a real virus
34Pre-Installation Testing
- If possible, we would recommend that you test the
AVStripper product in a controlled environment,
before installing it in the Network - This will allow you to become familiar with the
various settings and how it will work on that
particular network - Any issues can be addressed before the product
goes live on the network
