• Several Michigan communities were effected by
  severe rain and floods in late May.
• Residents are hoping to receive money to pay for
  the damages.

• Water Damage has effected many homes in the
  Macomb area.
• Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) damage
  specialists, are assessing the damage.

• On Thursday, Gov. Jennifer Granholm declared a
  state of disaster for 24 counties including
  Oakland, Wayne, Macomb, and Livingston.
• The northern part of the Clinton River filled
  homes with more than 2 feet of water in Macomb
  Township
• Overall, 70 houses were flooded in the area

• Since the flood receded, many residents,
  businesses and communities have tried to figure
  out how to pay for the millions of dollars in
  damage.

• Granholm will use the team's assessment to
  determine whether to ask the federal government
  to declare a disaster area and qualify for
  federal money.
• A decision is expected shortly after a damage
  assessment by FEMA is completed.
