• Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) is caused
  by a mothers alcohol use during pregnancy.
• Children with FAS have slow growth, facial
  deformities, and central nervous system damage.

• Children with other Fetal Alcohol Spectrum
  Disorders have other birth defects which may
  include malformations in the skeletal and major
  organ systems (ARBD), central nervous system
  deficits (ARND) or behavior problems associated
  with brain disorders (ARNBD). However, they do
  not have characteristic FAS facial features.
• FASD is the leading cause of preventable birth
  defects.
