- 20 Years-old when he became King
- Reigned for 16 Years
- An Extremely vile and wicked king
- Openly worshiped Baal and offered sons in burnt
sacrifices - God chastised Judah because of this evil (2
Chron 285) 120,000 men of Judah died 200,000
women and children were captured - Tried to bribe Assyria for help (caused more
trouble) - Ahaz indulged in even more idolatry as he became
increasingly distressed. - Not allowed a state burial in royal tombs
He walked in the way of the kings of Israel
indeed he made his son pass through the fire,
according to the abominations of the nations whom
the LORD had cast out from before the children of
Israel. (2 Ki 163)

God (remove idols, reopen the temple, restore
worship/sacrifices Passover) he was exact
opposite of his father Ahaz
And he did what was right in the sight of the
LORD, according to all that his father David had

- When threatened by Assyria he turned to and
depended upon God - His sickness and the extension by 15-years of
his life - Thru pride he showed the treasures of Judah to
Babylon - He had constructed a great channel into Jerusalem
