What is needed for Outlook Web Access

• ID Card
• NMCI Email Account
• PKI Certificates on ID Card
• CAC Reader
• CAC Software installed

Note If you are already logging on to your NMCI
workstation with your ID card, then only steps 4
and 5 apply. If not, contact Regimental ISMO at
451-7705.

Installing CAC Reader

• Connect the CAC reader to your computer
• Connect your CAC Reader to an open USB Port on
  your computer.
• Cancel any installation attempts that may appear.

Installing CAC Software

• To download the CAC Software (ActivCardGold 2.2),
  go to this web address

• If you are using Microsoft Windows XP you will
  also need to download this patch

Installing CAC Software

• The Save As window will appear, choose a
  location such as your Desktop and click Save to
  save the file to your computer.

• The file will save to your computer and the
  Download Complete window will appear. Click Open.

• Winzip will open. Click Unzip to extract the
  ActivCard22 files to a temp directory such as
  C\Temp
• Click Ok once the unzip has finished
• Then Click Run Winzip

• Winzip will open. Find the run.exe file and
  double click it

• The ActivCard Window will appear. Click Install
  Product

• Select Next
• Accept the terms in the license agreement and
  select Next

• Click Next to start a Typical Installation
• Then Click Install to install the CAC Software

• Once the installation is complete, click Finish

Accessing NMCI Email

• Insert your ID into the card reader.

• Open the link below and save the file to your
  desktop.

Accessing NMCI Email

• Right Click the dodcerts file on your desktop.
  
• Click Install Certificate
• A Diaglog Box will Appear, Press Next, Next,
  Finish
• The Import Successful Dialog Box will appear,
  press OK

• If this is the first time you are using your ID
  Card on your computer then you will have to
  install your PKI Certificates.
• Click Start, Programs, ActivCard, ActivCardGold,
  ActivCardGold Utilities

• Enter your Pin
• Then Click Tools, Register Certificates
• Press OK on the next two screens.

• To access NMCI OWA visit this site
• https//webmail.nmci.usmc.mil
• Select your name and press OK

Accessing NMCI Email

• Enter your PIN and press Ok
• In the Domain\user name field, enter
  MCDSUS\user.name
• Enter your Password into the Password Field.

• If you do not know your password, you must
  either
• Call NMCI at 1-866-843-6624
• From your NMCI workstation, go to the
  https//pwdreset.mcds.usmc.mil/ and follow the
  instructions.

Accessing NMCI Email

• If all the steps were completed properly, you
  should see your email in your browser window.

Notes

• You will not be able to use Outlook Web Access
  with any browser other than Internet Explorer.
