Program Outline

• 13 week program
• 11 weeks in a classroom setting
• 2 weeks practical experience
• Located at Trent Valley Literacy Association, 139
  Douro St.

• WHMIS Certification
• Food Handlers Certification
• Smart Serve Certification
• First Aid/CPR Certification
• Experience in an industrial kitchen
• Service Excellence Certification

How Can Ontario Works Assist?

• Assistance for a bus pass, gas for your vehicle
  or use of the County Van
• Classroom supplies
• Referral to Children Services for childcare
  assistance
• Assistance for placement requirements

When Does The Program Start And End?

• The program is scheduled to run twice a year

If I Am Interested, What Happens Now?

• You will be asked to complete an online
  questionnaire called the Employment Readiness
  Scale.
• You will be scheduled to attend an individual
  screening interview.
• Once the screening interviews are completed, a
  list of successful candidates will be compiled

What Happens Now Continued

• A letter of acceptance will be mailed to each
  successful candidate and an appointment scheduled
  to formalize the paperwork for participation in
  the Food Service Training Program
