How to use these letters

• Read the relevant fairy tale
• The children discover the letter
• Establish a problem Tuesday
• The office staff bring the letter to the class
• The letter is sent to one of the children in the
  class

Leading the initial discussion

• Let the children open the letter
• Allow time for the children to discuss their
  viewpoints
• Use phrases such as Thats an interesting point
  of view, So would you agree/disagree
  withbecause, So you think..

Concluding discussions

• Allow the children an opportunity to read and
  discuss each others work
• Ask the children what they think and why
• Display the childrens letters

Task

• Read the letters and identify the citizenship
  issues that each might raise.
• Read the childrens replies and identify issues
  to take forward, and how.
