7Pattachitra
- Pattachitra is a chitra (a painting) on a patta
(a canvas) - The paints are colored with raw materials such as
plants, leaves, soot, and powdered stones. - A strict order must be followed the borders,
then the outlines of the figures, the clothes, to
ornaments, any other decorations, and last, the
eyeballs. - Today, pattachitra are now painted on other
surfaces such as silk and palm leaf manuscripts
