Title: Jesus is Our KinsmanRedeemer

1
Jesus is Our Kinsman-Redeemer
  • Ruth 41-17

2
Redemption
  • For even the Son of Man came not to be served
but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom
    for many,(Mark 1045).
  • Hebrews 214 Since therefore the children
share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise
partook of the same things, that through death he
might destroy the one who has the power of
    death, that is, the devil.
  • Ephesians 52 And walk in love, as Christ
loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant
    offering and sacrifice to God.

3
Redemption
  • Hebrews 914 how much more will the blood of
Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered
himself without blemish to God, purify our
conscience from dead works to serve the living
    God.
  • Romans 81 There is therefore now no
condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
  • Romans 82 For the law of the Spirit of life
has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of
    sin and death.

4
Boaz
  • No Ammonite or Moabite may enter the assembly of
the LORD. Even to the tenth generation, none of
them may enter the assembly of the LORD forever,
    (Deuteronomy 233, ESV).
  • Ruth 22 And Ruth the Moabite said to Naomi,
"Let me go to the field and glean among the ears
of grain after him in whose sight I shall find
favor." And she said to her, "Go, my daughter."
  • Leviticus 2547-49

5
Boaz
  • Deuteromy 255-6
  • "If your brother becomes poor and sells part of
his property, then his nearest redeemer shall
come and redeem what his brother has
    sold,(Leviticus 2525, ESV).
  • Ruth 41-17

6
I. Boaz had the right to redeem, (v.4)
  • Ruth 21 Now Naomi had a relative of her
husbands, a worthy man of the clan of Elimelech,
    whose name was Boaz.
  • Ruth 220 And Naomi said to her
daughter-in-law, May he be blessed by the LORD,
whose kindness has not forsaken the living or the
dead! Naomi also said to her, The man is a
close relative of ours, one of our redeemers.
  • Read Ruth 44

7
I. Boaz had the right to redeem, (v.4)

  • Read Philippians 25-8
  • See Ruth 43-6

the reapers answered, She is the young Moabite

    of Moab.
  • Revelation 138 and all who dwell on earth
will worship it, everyone whose name has not been
written before the foundation of the world in the
book of life of the Lamb who was slain.

8
II. Boaz had the resolve to redeem, (v.4-9)
  • Hebrews 122 looking to Jesus, the founder and
perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was
set before him endured the cross, despising the
shame, and is seated at the right hand of the
    throne of God.
  • When the days drew near for him to be taken up,
he set his face to go to Jerusalem, (Luke 951,
    ESV).

9
III. Boaz had the resources to redeem, (v.9-10).
  • 1 Corinthians 619-20 Or do you not know that
your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within
you, whom you have from God? You are not your
own, for you were bought with a price. So
    glorify God in your body.
  • Titus 213-14 waiting for our blessed hope,
the appearing of the glory of our great God and
Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to
redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for

    zealous for good works.
