and Success

• Objective 1 - Define standards and expectations
  for college readiness for the state that address
  what students must know and be able to do to
  succeed in entry-level college/university courses
  and in the skilled workforce.
• Objective 2 - Align exit-level assessments of
  public education with entry-level expectations of
  higher education and the skilled workforce.
• Objective 5 - Create a college-going culture in
  every public PK, elementary, middle and high
  school in Texas.

  entry-level and developmental education programs

• Support for P-16 Regional Councils
• Staff of P-16 Outreach will provide more
  proactive support to strengthen P-16 Regional
  Councils. This includes
• Collaborations with community groups
• Development of school counseling program that
  encourages college readiness
• Increased support for programs encouraging
  participation and success in higher education
• College Connection
• CRS Demonstration Sites

• Vertical Alignment Regional Meetings Late
• October through November
• Morning session for P-16 Councils
• Afternoon session for regional PE/HE leaders to
  plan and implement regional vertical alignment
• Educator Preparation Focus Groups
• Designed to assure infusion of the CRS in
  educator preparation programs
• Includes colleges of education, arts and science
  faculties, alternative certification programs
