  in health education and research covers a wide
  range of health issues with emphasis on
  reproductive health environmental health, and the
  appropriate use of medicines.

Buyong Sponsorship Program

• Buyong is an impoverished village on Mactan
  Island, in central Philippines it is squeezed
  between beach resorts that claim most of the
  shoreline.
• The local people have only a narrow access to the
  water, limiting the area they can use for boating
  and fishing.
• The village has large families in small homes,
  and animals wandering freely.
• T B and leprosy are endemic.
• Access to electricity, running water, and toilets
  are all low.

• -Educational Assistance
• Children selected on the basis of academic
  achievement and need are matched with a sponsor
  of college expenses.
• -Medical Aid
• Financial assistance for treatment of TB is
  offered to families in Buyong village.
• -School Food Program
• A daily meal is served to all students at Buyong
  Elementary School.
