TADRA
  • Effective January 1, 2007
  • Drivers 16 years old who wish to obtain a Class
    D license must
  • Complete approved driver education course
  • Complete 40 hours of supervised driving
  • Complete 6 hours of supervised driving at night

CLASS CP License
  • Granted to 15 year olds
  • Must pass a written exam
  • Must be accompanied by a (Class C) licensed
    driver, adult age 21 or over
  • Class C driver must be capable of taking control
    of the vehicle

Class D License
  • Granted to drivers age 16 18
  • Must have held an instructional permit for 12
    months
  • May not have committed any major traffic
    violations
  • Must pass a comprehensive on road driving test

Class D License Restrictions
  • Driver education requirements must be met
  • May not drive between the hours of 1200 AM and
    600 AM
  • During first 6 months, only immediate family
    members may ride in vehicle
  • During second 6 months, only 1 passenger under
    age 21 who is not immediate family may ride in
    vehicle
  • Following first and second 6 months, only 3
    passengers under 21 years of age who are not
    immediate family may ride in the vehicle

Class C License
  • Drivers age 18 and older
  • Must hold a class D license
  • No major traffic convictions for the previous 12
    months
  • License must be upgraded to a Class D or you will
    be held to Class C restrictions, regardless of
    age.

Major Traffic convictions
  • DUI
  • Fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer
  • Racing
  • Reckless driving
  • Hit and run/Leaving the scene of an accident
  • Any moving violation with 4 or more points
    assessed

Suspension of License
  • Any driver under 21 convicted of the following
  • Fleeing or attempting to elude police
  • Racing
  • Reckless driving
  • Hit and run
  • Misrepresenting age/identity
  • Moving violation worth 4 or more points
  • Conviction of DUI of .08 or higher

School Attendance Required
  • Individuals under age 18 must be attending school
  • Graduated from high school
  • Received a certificate of high school completion
  • Completed or enrolled in secondary education

School Related Suspension
  • License suspended for one year or until age 18
    for the following
  • Threatening, striking or causing bodily harm to a
    teacher or school personnel
  • Possession or sale of drugs/alcohol on school
    grounds
  • Possession or use of a weapon on school grounds
  • Any sexual offense
  • Causing bodily harm to another person or student

DUI Convictions Under age 21
  • Blood Alcohol content of .02 or greater
  • May not plead nolo contendere
  • Must attend DUI school
  • 20 hours of community service
  • May not obtain Graduated license for 12 months
  • Blood Alcohol content of .08 or greater
  • Mandatory jail term of at least 24 hours
  • Community service of at least 40 hours
  • Suspension of license for 12 months
