Todays Meeting
  • Sarah Davis created the SD Coffee Company to
deliver coffee and supplies to small and medium
businesses. The company has prospered but all
data entry and reporting is currently on a manual
basis. Sarah has commissioned an Access database
to automate her company. Our purpose today is to
discuss the preliminary design of that database.

The Relationships
  • One-to-many relationship between sales reps and
customers one sales rep can have many customers,
but a given customer always works with the same
    sales rep
  • One-to-many relationship between customers and
orders one customer can have many orders, but a
specific order is associated with one customer.
  • Many-to-many-relationship between orders and
products this requires the creation of another
table that contains the primary key of both the
    Orders and Products tables
