Unit Status (1)

• PC2 / PC3 results analysis
• Short summary and lessons learnt - PC2 (IAS
  CIVA Checkout 2 Report dated 10 March 2006)
  nominal functioning but very limited test
  (CIVA/ROLIS IME plus CIVA-P simulated images
  only no verification of the CIVA-P, CIVA-M/V
  CIVA-M/I instruments) and still some abnormal TM
  packets (zeros) all temperatures in the 100C
  range
• - PC3 nominal functioning, no abnormal TM
  packets, all temperatures in the 90/-100C
  range, slightly increased wrt PC2 ones, IAS CIVA
  Checkout 3 Report to be edited
• Actual unit resources- Energy power ongoing
  update (TBC) of the current MOST figures based on
  the real in-flight (commissioning) resources-
  Data volume unchanged
• - Data transfer limited to 9 kbps by CDMS

• CIVA S/W
• A new CIVA S/W version (7.7 with improved
  algorithm automatic exposure time and improved
  robustness of the camera/CDPU links) has been
  finalized and positively tested on both the GRM
  (Cologne) and FSM (Orsay)
• PC4 operations
• CIVA/ROLIS operations have been defined for PC4
  as follows
• D1 - Extended AFT CIVA LFT with 7 CIVA-P
  pictures
• - CIVA S/W upload
• - CIVA LFT with 7 CIVA-P pictures
• - ROLIS S/W upload Special LFT
• D3 - ROLIS S/W final burn ROLIS LFT
• - CIVA-P Exposure Test (CIVA-ROLIS_LIOR_023
  8_02, first part of the CIVA active check-out
  including the EEPROM check)
• D8 - CIVA-M/SD2 Combined Operations
  (CIVA-ROLIS_LIOR_0254_01, second part of
  the CIVA active check-out)
• The corresponding sequences have been positively
  tested on both the GRM (Cologne, May August
  2006) and the CIVA FSM (Orsay, April-May 2006
  with previous ROLIS S/W August 2006 with new
  ROLIS S/W)

• Mars Swing-by Operations
• CIVA-P Mars imaging is proposed to be done in the
  following conditions (refer to CIVA-ROLIS_LIOR_026
  0_01)
• - CIVA-P Heaters switching on 7 hours before t0
  (015449, Closest distance to Mars)
• - CIVA-P Heaters switching off 3 hours before t0
• - Back CIVA-P Heaters switching on 1 hour before
  t0
• - 6 Mars (plus one solar panel) pictures taken
  with CIVA-P1 (fix exposure time), one every 80
  s, 4 pictures before t0, one at t0 and one after
  on the basis of the CNES simulations (see Regis
  presentation)
• - 1 Phobos picture taken with CIVA-P2 at t010
  mn (fix exposure time)
• The number of possible images is limited by the
  memory size allocated to CIVA in the 16MB IME
  mass memory (1MB Civa data or 4096 data packets)
  since the CIVA data needs to be stored in the
  ROLIS MEM when the Lander is not connected to the
  Orbiter
• The corresponding sequences have been positively
  tested on the CIVA FSM (Orsay, June 2006)
• The CIVA-ROLIS_LIOR_0260_01 (nominal) and
  CIVA-ROLIS_LIOR_0261_01 (optional) LIORs have
  been included in the SONC/MOST made resources
  analysis

• Open Work
• Miscellaneous questions- status of the NCR
  RO-LAN-NC-30361 no reception of the CIVA-M/V
  heating command during Commissioning (Block 2,
  Pass 6)
• - Civa/Rolis MEM allocation sharing issue
  on-board additional option to be discussed,
  implemented and tested before On-Comet phase
• - post Mars Swing-by Cruise operations to be
  discussed- on-comet SDL sequence to be refined
  (30mn transfer time required to transfer the
  Civa-P and RolisD images to CDMS at 9 kbps)
• CNES/SONC - new breakdown to be done around the
  SONC tools (images correction calibration, HK
  transfer functions )
• - follow-on of the archiving preparation
  activities EAICD (Experiment Archive Interface
  Control Document) to be updated
• CIVA documentation - Technical data base
  including ADPs updates, Calibration data, FUM
  almost completed, to be stored at IAS and
  transferred to COROLLES by IAS
• FSM tests at Orsay - complementary calibration
  tests on CIVA-M
