Australian Bicycle Council

• The Australian Bicycle Council is the National
  Body that was established in 1999 to manage the
  implementation of the Strategy. The Council
  reports to the Australian Transport Council
  (ATC), a group comprising Commonwealth, State and
  Territory transport Ministers and Local
  Government
• Manages and coordinates implementation of the
  Australian national cycling strategy

ABC Terms of Reference

• Increase safe cycling and remove impediments to
  cycling
• Oversee and coordinate implementation of the
  National Cycling Strategy and take a lead role
  where identified within the Strategy
• Identify areas benefiting from coordination,
  working closely with New Zealand
• Reference group to Austroads, member on review
  panel
