When she was born

• Amelia Earhart was born on July 24,1897 in
  Kansas. Her parents were Edwin and Amy
  Earhart.She had a younger sister named Muriel.

Did she go to school?

• Amelia went to many different schools and she
  graduated from Hyde Park high school in Chicago.
  A year later,she attended college at the Ogontz
  School near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Plans for the future

• Amelias plan was to be a pilot and fly across
  the Alantic ocean.

Her Goal

• Amelia Earhart took off in 1937 to fly
  around the world. She wanted to be the first
  person to fly across the Atlantic ocean.

Remembering Amelia Earhart

On July 2, 1937, Earhart sent a message to the
Coast Guard saying that the plane was near the
Howland Island but she was almost out of gas.
She was never hear from again and there was no
trace of her or her plane. Amelia disappeared
more than 60 years ago when trying to fly around
the world.
