1. Physics Fair (April 30, 2005) A Physics Fair
was held at the Bloomberg Center of Physics and
Astronomy at the Johns Hopkins University on
April 30, 2005 during the Hopkins Spring Fair.
The Physics Fair was jointly sponsored by the JHU
MRSEC and the QuarkNet.
Fliers and invitations were sent to the secondary
schools in the greater Baltimore City region, We
have attracted over 500 participants in attending
various activities that include 100 hands-on
physical science demonstrations. Physics
Challenge contest 30-min written exam given by
Physics faculty Kaplan and Maksimovic and high
school teacher Warrilow. Physics Bowl contest
15 teams of four students competed in answering
questions prepared by Physics faculty Broholm and
high school teacher Bresh. Physics Show given
by Professor Extraordinaire Leheny and Kaplan
attracted 350 participants.
