System Specification General Introduction

• Call definition
• Emergency call (e-call) 112 call landline
• mobile call originated by phone device
  (GGALIES)
• E-MERGE call, originated by In Vehicle System
• based on mobile comm. technology (e.g. GSM,
  Satellite, TETRA, ...)
• primarely data transmission (e.g. SMS, GSM/Data,
  GPRS, ...) voice
• includes location data (e.g. GPS / GALILEO data,
  )
• additional data (e.g. contract, customer,
  vehicle, type, colour)
• activated manually by S.O.S. button or automatic
  by processing of car

Basic requirements

• Legacy solutions exists

E-MERGE Expected results

• Independently from technology looking at
  compatibility with existing solutions
• Minimum level of service for legacy and private
  telematic solutions(proprietary solutions will
  continue to provide other added value services)
• The E-MERGE call will be available as at least an
  optional in-vehicle system (or as a standard
  in-vehicle system) to drivers - using 112 as fall
  back
• Minimum requirements for SP- PSAP interfaces
• Specification of an open net for all involved
  actors

  interpretation of the different SMS data
