Our background
A SOLID FOUNDATION
  • The sponsor for these Academies is the Greensward
    Charitable Trust which was formed in 1997. The
    Academies Enterprise Trust (AET) was formed in
    January 2008 to continue the work as the
    operational arm of the sponsor and the legal
    entity charged with opening three Academies in
    Essex.
  • The AET learning model is founded on the success
    of Greensward College, which had been judged by
    Ofsted as outstanding for over 12 years.

  • AET central services recharges are less than 4
    of budget ensuring that each Academy has around
    1 million more each year to spend on teaching
    and learning.

    judged Good with Outstanding features
  • In 2004 Thamesbridge College, now Madjeski
    Academy 2008 a rapidly improving school
  • In 2005, Hasmonean High School, 2008 judged
    Outstanding at Key Stages 3 and 4 and good at
    post 16. Top 10 achieving schools in the

Why AET?
A TRACK RECORD OF SUCCESS
  • In 2006 Unity City Academy, Middlesbrough In
    July 2009 judged satisfactory and improving
    school
  • In 2007 John Bramston School and Rickstones
    School, Witham. Both of these schools have now
    become Academies within the AET and both are now
    making good progress.
  • At the same time as providing support, challenge
    and intervention in a number of schools across
    the country, the Greensward College has continued
    to strive to deliver a world-class education for
    its students, with year on year achievement in
    GCSE results exceeding the national average.
  • In August 2008, 88 of students achieved 5 or
    more A-C grades with 60 gaining the same
    including English and Maths.
