Industry Update
  • The Nanaimo office of LWBC reports that it has
    received 5 applications for tidal/wave
    investigative use permits.
  • Land Act decision-making is an authority
delegated to specific individuals within LWBC by
the Minister of Sustainable Resource Management
  • Direction is given to those decision-makers via
Crown land tenuring operational policy and
    procedures.
  • The tidal/wave power land use program does not
    currently have such policy/procedures.
  • As the first step in developing policy, LWBC will
    undertake a jurisdictional review.
