2 WHAT IS PROSTATE CANCER?
Prostate cancer is a cancer that starts in the
prostate, a small walnut-sized gland in men that
makes seminal fluid. It's one of the most
frequent cancers in men, particularly after age
50. In most instances, prostate cancer develops
slowly and remains localized to the prostate,
doing little damage. But some are aggressive and
spread rapidly.
3COMMON SYMPTOMS OF PROSTATE CANCER
Frequent urination, especially at
night Difficulty starting or stopping
urination Weak or interrupted urine flow Blood in
urine Pain in the back, hips, or pelvis (if it
has spread)
4WHO IS AT RISK?
Men over the age of 50. Those with a family
history of prostate cancer. Men with obesity or a
poor lifestyle. High-fat diet and lack of
exercise may increase the risk.
5HOW DO WE REDUCE THE RISK OF PROSTATE CANCER
Maintain a healthy weight. Exercise
regularly. Eat a rich diet of vegetables, fruits,
and healthy fats. Limit red meat and processed
foods. Avoid smoking and reduce alcohol intake.
