Jane Morris dans Le Rêve éveillé de Rossetti.
Aujourdhui, Jane est considérée comme la
véritable muse de Rossetti, celle quil a le plus
aimée. Sur cette peinture, elle porte une robe
esthétique. Cette œuvre aurait du sappeler
Vanna Primavera (Le Printemps) mais Rossetti mit
plus de temps que prévu à la réaliser et le
feuillage verdoyant de lété ne se prêtait plus
guère à ce titre. Rossetti aimait accompagner
certains tableaux de poèmes. Ici le sonnet est
écrit directement sur le cadre et lune des
strophes évoque She dreams till now on her
forgotten book De quoi rêve-t-elle ? Nous ne le
saurons jamais aucune valeur narrative
