of the energy can be used for both constructive
and destructive purposes. The youth of today do
not have strong characteristics of past
generations. Sapthagiri College of Engineering,

Dr. H Ramakrishna is the Principal
of Sapthagiri Engineering,
College of Bengaluru. He
completed his BE in Mechanical Engineering
from Mysore University, his masters from Indian
Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and his Ph.D.
from Visvesvaraya Technological University,
Belagavi.
He served Institute of Technology,
Chikmagalur, as a lecturer for 10 years,
Adichunchanagiri he joined PESIT,
Bengaluru, as a senior lecturer later he served
Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering Technology
and Vidya Vardhaka College of Engineering as
Professor Head, Department of Mechanical
Engineering (11 Years). He joined Dayananda Sagar
College of engineering as Professor Head,
Department of Industrial Engineering Management
also served as Vice- Principal till July 2019,
about 11 years. He devoted 32 years to teaching
young engineering students. Under his expert
guidance, the branch has secured more than 49
university ranks. Dr. H Ramakrishna has been a
creative problem solver who consistently
demonstrates excellence and quality in his
research work with over 80 National and
International publications in his account. He
guided more than 100 B.E. Projects and 40 MTech
projects. At present he is guiding 05 research
scholars leading to a Ph.D. degree under VTU
DSU. He is associated with many internationally
recognized organizations. He served as Chairman,
Board of Examiner, Board of Studies and also a
member of the local inspection committee of
Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi.
He was given Dr. S. R. Gollapudi a National Award
2017- 2018 for contributing substantially to the
spread of Industrial Engineering profession and
the institutional activities conferred during the
year 2018 by Indian Institute of Industrial
Engineering. His Research Interest is Six Sigma,
Total Quality Management, Manufacturing, Human
Resources Management, Supply Chain Management,
Lean Manufacturing, Energy Management,
Composites Materials.

innovators. Dr M.H. Annaiah is at present
Professor of Mechanical Engineering and
Vice-Principal at Sapthagiri College of
Engineering Bangalore, Karnataka. A double
Post Graduate in
Engineering Science and Mechanical
and Management a Doctorate in
Engineering, Prof. in
M.H. Annaiah graduated
Mechanical Engineering from BMS college of
Engineering Bangalore

in 1975, Obtained Post Graduate Degree ME
(Machine Design) from University Visvesvaraya
College of Engineering (UVCE) Bangalore in 1977,
M.B.A (Marketing Management) from central
college Bangalore and Ph.D. in Mechanical
Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological
University Andhra Pradesh. A former Professor of
Mechanical Engineering at M.S Ramaiah Institute
of Technology (1978-2011). Dr M.H. Annaiah
worked as Principal at Dr. Shiva kumara Mahaswamy
College of Engineering Bangalore (2016-2019),
Professor and Head of the Departments of
Automobile and Aeronautical Engineering, Acharya
Institute of Technology Bangalore (2011-2016).
He has 40 plus years of experience in Teaching
and Research. Dr M.H Annaiah has authored 5 text
books which are very useful for students pursuing
Engineering and 3 Text books namely, Computer
Aided Engineering Drawing, Design of Machine
Elements I, Design of Machine Elements II are VTU
approved Text books. These books are also
prescribed as Textbooks / Reference Books in many
reputed Autonomous colleges / Universities and
National Institutes in India and abroad. The
other Text Books are Strength of Materials and
Engineering Graphics. Prof M.H Annaiah is
guiding 6 Research Scholars in VTU Belagavi for
their Ph.D. program. He has guided hundreds of
B. E and MTech students for their Project work.
He has number of Research Publications in
National and International Journals and a
Reviewer for many National and International
journals. Dr Annaiah has also delivered Guest/
Invited lectures in the subject Machine Design
in many Engineering College in Bangalore. Dr
Annaiah was invited to chair the session in
Conferences and Workshops. MESSAGE Dear
Students, a hearty welcome to the portals of
Sapthagiri College of Engineering established in
the year 2001 by the great visionary and
philanthropist Sri T. Giriyappa and Sri Dayanand
run under the aegis of Srinivasa Educational and
Charitable Trust Bangalore. The college is
affiliated to VTU Belagavi and approved by AICTE
New Delhi. The main aim of college is to provide
quality Technical Education to the budding
Engineers and to make them Technically Competent
and Globally Acceptable Engineers in their
respecti ve domains.

The college is located in the heart of
Bangalore city amidst lush green, eco
-friendly environment which is very conducive for
learning and has excellent infrastructure. The
college has a team of qualified, experienced and
dedicated faculty and technical su pport staff,
spacious and well-ventilated class rooms, well
equipped laboratories, State of the art Library
and Information Centre exits. The library and
reading rooms are kept open from 830 AM 8
PM on all working days. We have a separate Sports
Complex headed by a senior qualified and trained
Physical Education Director. The college conducts
number sports tournaments and also encourage
students interested in sports to participate in
VTU, National and International Sports events.
We have a separate Training and Placement centre
headed by a senior Placement officer. The
students are trained in their domains and render
them employable. Number of co-curricular and
extra-curricular activities is conducted every
year in the college. The college has Hostel
facilities for both Boys and Girls and the
hostels are headed by senior Wardens.
