INTRODUCTION

• Geotechnical drilling is used to drill into rock
  to the necessary depth for appropriate laboratory
  testing, as well as to determine the SPT value
  and collect samples of both disturbed and
  undisturbed soil. It helps in determining the
  kind, state, and engineering characteristics of
  subsurface strata.
• Boring through the soil layers is done in
  compliance with IS 1892. In soil, the borehole
  diameter must be 100 or 150 mm. The borehole was
  progressed to the necessary depth using guide
  casing of sufficient diameter. However, in
  accordance with IS 4464, drilling is done using a
  conventional (NX) size double/triple tube core
  barrel if bedrock is found.
