CHIP INDUSTRY WITNESSING TRUE TURNAROUND WITH
STRONG EXPECTATIONS FOR 2024
According to a Semiconductor intelligence
report, the global chip market is expected to
grow by 16 in 2024. This figure sits on the
higher end of a range of 9 to 20 offered by
many analysts in the industry. IDC has one of
the most positive outlooks, projecting a 20
surge next year. Even so, 2024 appears to be a
bright year for the semiconductor industry. With
chips continuing to increase their role in every
aspect of daily life, maintaining a robust
supply chain and minimizing shortages and gluts
remains paramount. It will be interesting to see
whether analyst predictions pan out and which
sectors thrive in 2024.
According to many analysts, the chip industry is
poised for a strong year of growth in 2024 after
overcoming difficult circumstances hampering the
market in 2023 and the year prior. While next
years anticipated growth is undoubtedly good
news for the industry, not all chip makers
should expect to realize the benefits equally.

RAPIDUS IS JAPANS BEST CHANCE AT REVITALIZING
DOMESTIC CHIP PRODUCTION
In Japan, Rapidus is an exciting startup that
aims to revamp the nations domestic industry
and jumpstart 2nm chip production as soon as
2025. Meanwhile, China is navigating a sweeping
list of trade restrictions by purchasing more
chipmaking equipment to advance its
manufacturing capabilities.
The entire world is working to expand chip
production and turn out more advancedsemiconducto
rs. Unsurprisingly, Asia is investing heavily in
both chip innovation and manufacturing as it
seeks to fend off a fresh wave of competition
from the U.S. and Europe.
