BCAA - Do we need it or not

Description:

BCAA stands for Branched-Chain Amino Acids. They are a group of three essential amino acids: leucine, isoleucine, and valine. Essential amino acids are not produced by the body and must be obtained through dietary sources. BCAAs are crucial for protein synthesis, which is essential for muscle growth, repair, and recovery. They are often popular among athletes, bodybuilders, and fitness enthusiasts because they are believed to help with muscle recovery, reduce muscle soreness, and potentially improve exercise performance. essential amino acid.
  • In 211, Leucine is 2g whereas valine and
    iso-valine is 1g each.
  • Leucine is known for triggering the Muscle
    Protein Synthesis, MPS.
  • 2g to 3g of leucine is sufficient for triggering
    MPS.
  • Additional Leucine will not serve you any extra
    benefits.

protein will be stated as complete protein
otherwise it will be stated as incomplete
    protein.
  • There are total 9 essential amino acids,
    methionine, threonine, leucine, isoleucine,
    valine, tryptophan, histidine, lysine,
    phenylalanine.

5
Continued
  • Our body can not synthesize essential amino
    acids.
  • Thus, Intake of these essential amino acids are
    crucial through Diet.
  • BCAA only contains 3 essential amino acids as
    discussed before.
