1
What Mexican Seasonings Work Well with Chicken?
  • Chicken was first included into the native
Mesoamerican cuisine by the Spaniards. The Aztecs
consumed largely grains and vegetables before
they arrived, along with fish and various animal
proteins from deer and other wildlife. Moreover,
modern Mexican cooking techniques for chicken
combine colonial-era spices and herbs with
indigenous ones from the region. If you are
staying in Hong Kong you can try chicken from La
    Vista, a Mexican Restaurant bar.

2
Cumin
  • Cumin, the traditional Latin American spice, you
will find it in large majority of Mexican
cuisine. Nearly all Mexican beef dishes,
including tacos and those with poultry like
chicken, call for cumin. Its nuttiness and bitter
earthiness might aid to bring out the mild taste
of chicken. Additionally, it complements all the
    other Mexican chicken flavors wonderfully.

3
Mexican Oregano
  • Mexican oregano, a cousin of lemon verbena, has a
strong taste with citrus undertones. Consider
    your options carefully before substituting
because its flavor is very different from that of
its Mediterranean predecessor. Although it would
not be the worst alternative, Mediterranean
oregano might not be the greatest for chicken.
One of the components in classic chicken moles is
    Mexican oregano.

4
Onion
  • Of fact, as it is a common ingredient in numerous
food cultures worldwide. It appears in recipes
    with animal proteins practically everywhere.

5
Garlic
  • About as common as onions' sulphureous, Savoury
properties are those of garlic. Moreover, garlic
is an Allium, much like an onion. It complements
all animal proteins. Furthermore, it enhances the
umami flavor of chicken. Both the aforementioned
tinga de pollo and pollo asada, two traditional
    Mexican chicken dishes, contain garlic.
