Scuba Diving Equipments A Detailed Guide On
Regulators
  • What Does A Regulator Do?
  • "Underwater respiration is amazing! A scuba
regulator lets you breathe air from your tank,
    thanks to fantastic technology.
  • The center of scuba dive gear is a Scuba Diving
Regulator, which connects your scuba tank to the
    BCD, submersible pressure gauge (SPG),
    alternative air source, and you.
  • "Your first underwater breath with a regulator is
exhilarating. Choose a dependable, simple one for
worry-free diving. Cotact PADI for info."
  • For information about regulators, contact your
local PADI scuba Dive Center or Resort.

Features Functionalities
First stage
Connects with the scuba tank valve.
It lowers the air pressure in the tank to a
middle pressure, and distributes it through a
number of hoses.
Second stage
Mouthpiece through which you breathe.
Known as the demand valve, it supplies precise,
on-demand air for comfortable inhalation.
Alternative air source
Spare mouthpiece for easy air sharing during
rescues.
BCD may integrate second stage in the inflator.

4) Low-pressure BCD inflator
A low-pressure pipe connects the low-pressure
BCD inflator to the first stage.
Youll have an additional inflator hose attached
to your dry suit if you choose to wear one.
5) Submersible pressure gauge (SPG)
Device linked to first stage measures tank air
pressure.
Accurately gauges remaining air in your tank.

  • Other Notable Optional Features
  • Choose DIN or yoke to attach regulators to
cylinder valves adapters make DIN regulators
    compatible with yoke valves.
  • Environmental seals keep out contaminants and
    prevent freezing in cold weather.
  • Regulators usually work with EANx, but some need
oxygen service for gas above 22 oxygen.
  • You can tweak the second stages of respiration to
make your breathing as effortless as you can at
    all times.
  • With a dive/predive toggle switch, your second
    stage temporarily becomes less sensitive,
    impeding free-flow.

Choosing The Right Scuba Diving Regulator
PADI Dive Center regulators are high-quality,
tailored for your dive needs, and easily serviced
at local dive shops.
Ask the experts at your local PADI scuba Dive
Center to show you the best regulators that will
work for you.
Know whether tanks in your area typically have
DIN or yoke connections, and check your regulator
for the same connection.
Make sure the first stage has enough ports in the
proper arrangement by evaluating all the
components that will make up your regulator
package.
To test how well your top regulator selections
breathe, request to have them connected to a
tank. Verify how well the mouthpiece fits.

Tips To Keep Your Regulators Maintained
Rinse regulator in freshwater after diving.
Soak, swish, and hang it to remove salt and
debris, ensuring proper function.
Inspect O-rings when adding accessories.
Replace damaged or worn O-rings.
Dive shop can add hose protectors.
Follow manufacturer's service schedule, often
annually.
Many divers service regulators at season's end
for storage.
Consult your dive center for specific servicing
needs.
