Why You Must Be Serious About Marriage
Registration?

Almost every single person's desire is to marry
the person of their choosing. While it is true
that marriage rites in India are widespread
across all religions, there are a few other
vital parts of a wedding that should not be
overlooked. One such vital component of a
marriage is having the wedding officially
recorded in order to obtain a marriage
certificate from tis Hazari court marriage
registration. Many people marry without
following the legal requirements, which can pose
complications for couples. The registration
procedure not only legalises the partnership, but
it also provides certain safeguards for both the
wife and the husband if things go wrong.

Know about Marriage Certificate
Marriage Certificate is an official document
issued by the registrar that confirms the act of
marriage as well as the date and location.
Marriages can be registered under either the
Hindu Marriage Act of 1955 or the Special
Marriage Act of 1954. A marriage certificate is
legal documentation that a couple is married in
both sorts of marriages. In order to protect
women's rights, the Supreme Court made marriage
registration mandatory in 2006.
4
Who are eligible to apply?
When both husband and wife are Hindu, Sikh,
Buddhist, or Jain, or if they have converted to
these religions, the Hindu Marriage Law applies.
The Special Marriage Act, on the other hand,
extends to weddings of persons of all religions,
including interfaith marriages and Indians
residing overseas. The Special Marriage Law also
applies to couples who have previously finished
their marriage ceremony and applied for marriage
registration. Marriages must be recorded with
the relevant Gramme Panchayat/municipality/area
where the wedding took place under both
laws. Now a days you can opt for both the online
or offline procedure. It may take up a little
bit time but that would not affect anything.
Online procedures are faster than the offline
mode.
