Title: Paint your bathroom in 10 easy steps
1PAINT YOUR BATHROOM IN 10 EASY STEPS
21. Remove mould To remove any mould, use a
diluted bleach solution or a fungicidal/mold
cleanser. The surface will have time to cure
thoroughly if you do this the day before you
intend to paint. Use caution when handling
chemicals use eye and skin protection, and
adhere to the product's directions. 2. Clear the
space You should take everything out of the room,
including any fixtures like towel racks and
toilet paper holders. To prevent losing them,
keep any screws together in a zippered bag.
33. Make your surfaces ready. With a scraper,
remove any loose paint, then use a
water-resistant filler to patch any holes or
cracks. Sand the surface to make it smooth when
it has dried. Also, lightly sand any woodwork
that has been painted in the past to ensure that
the new paint will stick. Dust should be vacuumed
up. 4. Scrub the surfaces. To get rid of any
oil, wash with sugar soap or a detergent
solution, then rinse with cold water. This will
also guarantee that the paint adheres effectively
to your surfaces and assist eliminate any
sanding-related dust residue.
45. Guard your flooring Dust sheets should be used
to cover the bathroom fixtures and flooring. Tape
little plastic bags to the showerhead and
faucets. If you're not painting your tiles, you
might wish to cover their edges with some
low-tack masking tape so you can paint them. 6.
Get your paint and tools ready. Use a
bathroom-specific paint, such as Dulux
Mouldguard, is what we advise. Your surfaces will
be able to withstand the effects of water, steam,
and moisture and resist the growth of mould. For
painting the walls and ceiling, a roller is
required, and a little brush is required for
finishing touches and cutting in.
57. Ceiling painting Paint the ceiling first when
you're ready to start painting. Any paint drips
will fall onto unpainted surfaces and you can
easily wipe them off or paint over them later in
this manner. Also, lightly sand any woodwork that
has been painted in the past to ensure that the
new paint will stick. Dust should be vacuumed
up. 8. Paint the walls The walls need to be
painted next. To produce a lovely, clear line for
the following stage, it's a good idea to overlap
the paint over the woodwork by a few centimetres
or so.
69. Paint woodwork. In order to lower the chance
of brushing across freshly painted surfaces, the
trick is to begin in the middle of the room and
slowly make your way out. With this in mind,
painting your woodwork is best done in the
following order window frame, windowsill,
skirting boards, and then doorframe. 10.
Reposition everything. You can start moving
things back into the room once you've given the
paint plenty of time to cure (we suggest
following the drying time recommendations on the
paint can). Your fixtures may now be reattached,
and you're set for a leisurely tub soak!
