What is Polypropylene?
Polypropylene (PP) is a popular thermoplastic
polymer used in a wide range of applications. It
is a part of the polyolefin group of plastics,
which also includes polyethylene (PE). PP is
characterized by its high strength-to-weight
ratio, chemical resistance, and durability.

What is types of Polypropylene?
  • There are several types of polypropylene (PP)
available, each with its own specific properties
and applications. Here are some of the most
    common types
  • PP TQ
  • PP THERMOFORMING
  • PP RANDOM
  • PP RAFFIA
  • PP MOLDING
  • PP LAMINATION
  • PP HOMOPOLYMER
  • PP COPOLYMER

PP Copolymer LyondellBasell Pro-fax 8623
Pro-fax 8623 is a random copolymer polypropylene
(PP) grade manufactured by LyondellBasell. It is
designed to provide a balance of stiffness,
impact resistance, and processability, making it
suitable for a wide range of applications,
including injection molding and blow
molding. This grade of PP has a high melt flow
rate (MFR) of 23 g/10 min, which means it can be
processed easily at high speeds. It also has a
good balance of stiffness and impact resistance,
making it ideal for applications such as
thin-wall containers, caps, and closures.

Benefits of HDPE Molding
  • There are several benefits of using copolymer
    polypropylene (PP) in various applications
  • Improved flexibility PP copolymers have a lower
melting point and a lower degree of crystallinity
than homopolymer PP, which gives them improved
    flexibility and impact resistance.
  • Better clarity Random copolymer PP grades have a
better clarity and transparency than homopolymer
PP, making them an ideal choice for transparent
    or translucent applications.

7
  • Higher chemical resistance PP copolymers have a
better resistance to chemicals than homopolymer
PP, making them suitable for use in applications
that require contact with aggressive chemicals,
such as automotive components and chemical
    storage tanks.
  • Enhanced processability Copolymer PP grades have
a broader processing window, which allows for
faster and more efficient processing than
homopolymer PP. They also have a wider range of
melt flow rates, making them suitable for various
processing methods such as injection molding,
    blow molding, and extrusion.
  • Improved toughness PP copolymers have improved
toughness and impact resistance, making them
ideal for use in applications that require high
durability, such as food packaging, toys, and
    household items.
