Sarah Lazow's Saga as the Owner of Marada Pictures
  • Some people are content with whatever they
achieve, even if it is only a fraction of what
they had hoped for. This is the story of Sarah
Lazow, a woman who dared to dream and worked hard
    to achieve her goals.
  • We all have dreams because we are all dreamers.
Some people give their lives to achieve their
dreams, working tirelessly until they have
accomplished what they set out to do. Some people
are content with whatever they achieve, even if
it is only a fraction of what they had hoped for.
This is the story of Sarah Lazow would not have
dared to dream and worked hard to achieve her
    goals.

  • Sarah's family had nothing to do with Hollywood
or movies, but she yearned to be a part of the
glamorous world. When she finally gets the chance
to work in Hollywood, she decides to become a
producer and financier. She knew from the start
that she wanted to be behind the camera, or in
complete control of a film, rather than playing a
minor role in the entire filmmaking process. As a
result, a new league of film and television
    producers was formed.
  • Her life story is exciting and noteworthy because
she chose to enter a man's world. Film production
and financing have traditionally been men's
domains, with few women in Hollywood venturing
down those rabbit holes. Sarah Lazow would not be
deterred or discouraged from following her
heart's desire. Soon after arriving in Hollywood,
she founded her production company, Marada
    Pictures.
  • She plays a vital role as a financier or
producer. From the selection of the entire film
crew and actors to ensuring that the story fits
with the ideologies of her production house, it
is a difficult task. She must also ensure that no
compromises are made with the plot or the
    characters due to financial constraints.

  • The Weekend was Marada production's first film.
The plot, characters, and director were all
Black, with a witty take on life. Stella Meghie,
a Canadian writer-director, wrote and directed
the film, which starred major actors as the
central characters. Sasheer Zamata portrayed a
stand-up comedian, and Tone Bell portrayed her
    ex-boyfriend. DeWanda Wise, Bell's current
girlfriend, and Kym Whitley also appeared in the
    film.
  • Sarah Lazow wanted her first film to have a big
debut, so she took it to the Toronto
International Film Festival for a premiere in
2018. Sarah had arrived, and The Weekend had
received rave reviews from all over. Later, when
the film was released in theatres across the
United States in 2019, it was well received by
    the audience.
  • Her second venture into the entertainment
industry was as an executive producer of a
television series. It was a sci-fi series called
V-Wars. Jonathan Maberry directed the Netflix
Original series, which starred Ian Somerhalder,
Peter Outerbridge, and Adrian Holmes. The first
season lasted four months, from December 2019 to
March 2020. Sarah Lazow became a household name
in the United States with these two productions,
and she has since been praised for her
outstanding work as a film and television
    producer.
