Most People think heart disease only affect men
which is not true. Cardiovascular diseases are

1. Women have different hearts
A womens heart is 2/3 the size of mens heart.
Women heart rate is usually faster so it works
harder. Though mans heart has greater mass than
womans but they both lose their muscle mass
after a certain age. As their heart ages, they
prone to have different types of heart
diseases. Some aged women are more likely to
develop a stiff left ventricle than men which is
a condition of heart failure. This condition can
be managed but women of 60 years of age or above
should aware of their risk factors for heart
disease such a s high blood pressure, high
cholesterol, lack of physical exercise, excess
weight and kidney problems. The best prevention
to heart failure is to stay physically active and
keep your blood pressure under control.

2. Womens heart attacks may not resemble mans
A study shows that, in women heart attack does
not follow the similar pathway as mens. Women
suffer with heart attack when they have diabetic
problems. Women are more likely to suffer with
cardiac rupture and bleeding problems and a
higher risk of recurring Myocardial
infarction. In both genders, chest-crushing pain
in heart is a most common symptom of heart
attack says Dr. Ranjit Jagtap daughter.

2. Womens heart attacks may not resemble mans
  • But women experience typical warning signs of
getting a heart attack. Some of them are as
    follows -
  • Shortness of breath
  • Unusual fatigue
  • Unusual upperbody discomfort
  • Sudden dizziness
  • Light-headedness
  • Women who are older than 50 years of age, should
be aware of these signs and should not delay in
getting a treatment and head to the emergency
    department right away.

3. Effects of pregnancy on womans heart
For a womens heart, pregnancy is like a stress
test. During pregnancy, a womans blood volume
nearly triples, her blood pressure rises, and
her heart size and stroke volume increase.
During this time, women are higher risk at
getting heart disease, hypertension and even
diabetes if they stress too much. In a pregnant
woman, inflammation of the heart muscle can also
occur. Risks like heart valve issue or genetic
issues are also more likely to occur in pregnant
women. If any women ever experience adverse
pregnancy outcome then she should immediately
reach out to a cardiologist.

4. Women hearts are at higher risk after
menopause.
  • Several risk factors like weight gain, lack of
physical activity are common in women going
through menopause. These factors can also affect
heart condition. Around the time of menopause,
blood pressure also rises up and emerge the risk
factors of heart disease in women.
  • Women should be of the risk factors for heart
diseases. Seek preventative care from a
cardiologist. Adopt a healthy lifestyle for your
heart. Aditi Jagtap Pune at Ram Mangal Heart
Foundation helps heart patients. Look after your
heart health, it should be your priority. It is
all about the small choices you make each day
which makes your heart stronger and healthier.
