  HP Offline status, your HP printer cannot

Method 1 Set Your HP Printer To Default The
Default Settings

• In this method, you will have to select your
  printer preference manually. To do this, follow
  the below steps for doing it in Windows 10
  operating system. Please make sure your computer
  is downloaded and installed with all the latest
  Windows 10 operating system updates. Please
  follow the below instructions
• Go to the search box to open Devices.
• Then go to the Printers and Scanners option.
• After that, please ensure that the Windows
  manage my default printer settings are
  unchecked. If it is checked, then click on the
  check box to unselect it. 
• Then select the HP printer youre using from the
  available list.
• If youre seeing your HP printer multiple times
  on the list, then select the version showing an
  online or idle status.
• Then click on Manage and then on Set as default
  settings.   
• If youre using Windows 8, please follow the
  following steps to set your HP printer to the
  default settings
• Select the printer youre using for the devices
  shown in the list.
• If there is more than one version available in
  the list, then select the version that is not
  grayed out.

Method 2 Verify Your Printer Port And Windows
Services Status

• Follow the below instructions to resolve your
  issue using the Verify your printer port and
  Windows service status method
• If your HP printer is using a WSD port, then this
  method is for you. If youre using the search
  windows for the Control Panel, click on View
  devices and printers.  
• After that, right-click on your printer name and
  click on Printer Properties.
• Then click on the Ports tab, and search if your
  printer uses a WSD port.
• If your printer uses the WSD port, follow the
  below steps if it doesnt, please skip the below
  section.
• Search Windows for services.
• Scrolls down the list to find Function Discovery
  Resource Publication and Function Discovery
  Provider Host.
• After that, please check the Startup type column
  and the status.
• If the status and startup type column is running
  and the start-up guide is automatic, please go to
  the next step. 
• If it is showing blank, start with the manual
  startup type, and navigate to names and
  properties.
• After that, change the startup type from manual
  to automatic, then click on Start in the Service
  status, and click on OK. 
• Go to the Devices and Printers windows and press
  F5 on your keyboard.
• Finally, in the end, select the name of your HP
  printer model and check for your status.

Method 3 Check Your Internet Connection

• Depending upon how your HP printer is connected
  to your computer, you may find many reasons why
  your printer is showing Offline status. If youre
  using a USB connection, then make sure that your
  USB is safe and secure. If your issue recurs, you
  should consider using other USB cables. If youre
  using a wireless network connection, then follow
  the following steps to connect your HP printer
• First of all, reboot your HP printer by turning
  the printer off and waiting for at least 10
  seconds, and disconnecting and reconnecting the
  power cord from your HP printer.
• After that, turn your computer off.
• Then connect your printer to the power cable and
  reboot your printer.      
• Then unplug your printer from the power source
  from the wireless router settings and wait for at
  least 10 seconds before reconnecting it.
• It might take some minutes for your internet
  connection to come back online.  
• When the internet connection comes back online,
  power on your computer.
• After that, connect your HP printer to the
  network using the HP Wireless setup wizard.
• After that, print a wireless report to see the
  connectivity issue that exists. 
• You will find the report in the network settings
  or on the wireless menu of your HP printer.
