2Overview
Assistive robots are designed to assist the
elderly and people with disabilities in carrying
out certain tasks. Robots in general are not
replacing human labor as there are still many
tasks that require human skillsets and cannot be
completed by machines. Rather, they are
supplementing our labor and making it more
efficient. In this section, I will go into the
basic concepts of assistive robotics market and
what they can do to assist people. Assistive
robots perform physical tasks for the benefit of
a disabled person. This task is added to the
person's activities of daily living (ADL) and
should be performed by the attendant. A person
with a disability controls the operation of the
robot. More and more, people with impairments are
using robotic assistance technology to increase
their freedom and quality of life. Robotic
feeders, smart-powered wheelchairs, autonomous
mobility robots, and socially assistive robots
are just a few examples of the devices that are
becoming more therapeutically relevant. It is
increasingly important for the rehabilitation
professional to be aware of available procedures
and ongoing research efforts.

3The main types are "real" AC-AC converters
(without DC levels) and AC-DC-DC-AC converters
(in which the operator provides a DC-DC
converter, which -to the translator). Solid state
converters usually have a converter, either an
AC-AC converter or a DC-DC converter that
provides isolation and carries enough power. This
converter is small due to the small DC-DC
conversion between the coils which means less
converters are needed to step up or down the
voltage. A solid state converter can control
voltage and current. Some can convert oneminute
energy into three-minute energy and vice versa.
Variables can be switched in or out of DC power
to reduce the number of changes, for greater
end-to-end performance. A modular solid state
converter consists of several high frequency
converters and is similar to a multilevel
converter. As a complex electronic circuit, it
must be designed to withstand fire and other
explosions. Solid state inverters are an emerging
technology.

4Robotics What are they? The word robot is
derived from the Czech word for worker, robota.
The word has been used since 1921 and it was
first mentioned in Karel Capeks play Rossums
Universal Robots (1924). Assistive Robots What
can they do? Assistive robots are designed to
help humans with their daily activities by
assisting them with tasks which humans would
normally need help with. For example, robots that
can carry things for a human or provide them with
assistance when climbing stairs.
