Top Australian Public Universities Starting as a
night school in Melbourne, Australia, RMIT
University was founded in response to the
Industrial Revolution in 1887 by Francis Ormond,
formerly known as the Royal Melbourne Institute
of Technology. RMIT is one of Australia's most
trusted universities and one of the top 50 young
universities in the world. The institute invites
the most significant number of students compared
to any other university in the country, reaching
over 95,000 students, among which over 26,000
come from foreign countries. RMIT is deemed one
