  • Biryanis is the stereotypical celebratory meal in
India and an authentic delicacy that people often
    enjoy during a one-dish meal. The 400-year-old
city of Hyderabad is associated with the popular
dish for its signature biryani as much as people
there cherish this Indian dish enough to have so
many Hyderabadi biryani hotel in Delhi to deliver
the aromatic flavor of biryani to as large number
of people as possible. The biryani may have
become the local landmark and the national dish
of the country but people still wonder when and
from where this delicious come from and how.

3
  • Biryanis come from many places and religions.
Some call it by a different name such as pulav
but biryani is a biryani, and there is not just
one type of biryani but many kinds such as the
worldwide famous chicken dum biryani Hyderabadi
in Delhi that will take your taste bud to a
rollercoaster ride. But back to our question,
from where this biryani dish is originally from,
and what is the journey and evolution of biryani
    shall we dig in?

The History of Birinj Biryani
  • There are some saying about biryani originated
from Iran but it's a little doubtful. Even the
word biryani can be traced to the original
Persian birinj biryani which literally means
fried rice. Now I don't think they will insult
the biryani like this. In Iran, the element that
use to make biryanis (pot) is put on dum to look
it slow and allow the marinated meat to cook on
its own, the details give it perfectly layered
rice and authentic substance. Overall the rice
    cooks gently.
  • Now, most of the Hyderabadi biryani hotel in
Delhi follows the original cooking style to make
biryani to keep its originality to the last. The
doyenne of Islamic cooking in India, Salma
Hussein, tells us that the biryani that used to
be sold on the streets of Iran no longer contains
rice and has chunks of meat cooked with rumali
roti (paper-thin bread). However, the dosh has
also evolved in India, where it has gained a
colorful and varied history of new flavor dishes.
There is no evidence of where biryani comes from
but all we know is that originally it was a
Persian dish that came to India with more flavour
and Indians gave it some elements that it is
    today.

Evolution in India
  • Somehow the dish with meat and rice ends up in
south India after long travel with moguls. It was
only later that the dish meandered along less
traveled roads, ending up on the plate of locals
and making its way to peoples hearts. Today
biryani is not the only dish that comes in
varieties but is the most ordered online dish in
India and much Hyderabadi biryani hotel in Delhi
try their best to deliver the real taste and
originality of the dish in their meal.
  • Today, in Kerala for instance, one interaction
with Malabar/mopla biryani, substitutes meat and
chicken with the flavor of fish and Parwan. The
spice and the proponents are strong and do not
miss the aromatic symphony associated with
Hyderabadi biryani. The state of west Bengal I
not different and make the dish biryani in its
own way. This is how biryani evolves in India by
becoming every states favorite and how the state
makes its own style of biryani.

6
  • The journey of biryani was quite long before it
made its way to India and became world-famous
cuisine. Rice is the main dish eaten in India
because there is hardly any dish that cannot be
eaten with rice and the famous chicken dum
biryani Hyderabadi in Delhi makes with loads of
spices and rice to make it more delicious, as you
know India is the spice capital of the world and
uses their spice most delicious way.
