Early Life

• Olivia Rodrigo grew up in California, where she
  was already good at music and writing her songs
  at a young age. She started her career as a
  youngster actress and starred in the TV shows
  Bizaardvark and High School Musical The
  Musical The Series. In January 2021, Rodrigo
  put out his heartbreaking first single, Drivers
  License. The song reached No. 1 on the Billboard
  Hot 100 and was the first song in 2021 to be
  streamed more than a billion times. After that,
  she made the well-liked album Sour (2021).

Childhood

• Olivia Isabel Rodrigo was born in Murrieta,
  California, on February 20, 2003. Rodrigos
  parents, Jennifer, a teacher, and Chris, a family
  and marriage therapist, raised her in Temecula,
  California. Olivias mother introduced her to
  alternative rock like No Doubt, the White
  Stripes, and Smashing Pumpkins when Olivia was a
  child.

Trying Out for Parts and Becoming a Disney Star

• Rodrigo started taking acting classes when she
  was six years old. She had parts in school plays,
  and she also started to try out for jobs in the
  real world. So that she could do this, her
  parents would drive her 90 miles to Los Angeles.

Compare with Taylor Swift

• Rodrigos style has been compared to that of
  Taylor Swift, one of her favourite artists. There
  were also rumours that the song was about
  Rodrigos breakup with Joshua Bassett, who he
  worked with on HSMTMTS. But the song is liked
  by more than just Disney fans. Rodrigo told
  The New York Times, The cool thing about
  Drivers License is that Ive seen so many
  videos of people saying, I dont know who this
  girl is, but I really love this song. A
  Saturday Night Live sketch in which a group of
  men gushed about Drivers License showed how
  popular the song was.

Big Break in Music

• In 2021, Rodrigo not only had her big break in
  music, but she also finished high school and
  moved into her own apartment. In July 2021,
  Rodrigo went to the White House to try to get
  young people to get a Covid-19 vaccine. He met
  with President Joe Biden. Rodrigo is aware of how
  fashion can affect the environment, so he chooses
  eco-friendly brands and shops at thrift stores,
  buys vintage clothes, and trades clothes with
  friends.

Prizes and Awards

• Rodrigos first album, Sour, won best new
  artist, best solo performance, and best album at
  the Grammys in April 2022.
